National Association of Professional Boxing of Moldova is attacked by Moldavian Boxing Federation’s

In these days in Moldova we have a real war: National Association of Professional Boxing of of Moldova is attacked by Moldavian Boxing Federation's president Vasilii Chirtoca. Mr Chirtoca wants to set his hands on professional boxing now/

Only this year the National Association of Professional Boxing of  RM organized two events and there is planned another one in December. We are trying to develop professional boxing in Moldova. licensing local boxers. sanctioning events. Our organization is absolutely legal: we have statuses signed and approved by Ministry of Justice. the Association was found in 2014 with the help of Ministry of Sports.

Mr Chirtoca once in 2001 registered Professional Boxing Federation (last activation in 2009) and didn't make any step to develop professional boxing in our Republic.More then this: amateur boxing in Moldova ia almost "dead".

In the amateur National Championship which took place on 19-21 October there were 42 participants in 10 categories. In comparison with the previous years the amount of active adult boxers in Moldova is falling catastrophically.

The reason is in ineffective management of the Amateur Federation: boxers do not have any motivation to continue fighting, the life in Moldova is hard and they have to earn their living.

This year we started something new: there are sponsors interested in investing into professional boxing, we have fighters and we have opportunities to organize the events. All this definitely frightens Mr Chirtoca. So all these years he was inactive in pro boxing and now suddenly he opened Department of Pro boxing (which should serve for AIBA APB and WSB leagues) with his son Alexei Chirtoca in the position of Chairman of the Department . Why did he do it?

May be because he is afraid that amateur boxers will see the development of pro boxing and leave his Federation... So taking control over transition of the boxers from amateur to pro will give him the opportunity to regulate and to restrict some of the boxers to leave amateur boxing.

His lawyers have written the contract for the boxers signing which will be the main condition for the boxers to get licenses in Chirtoca’s Federation. The conditions of the contract are unacceptable and contradict the agreements with managers or promoters. For example Federation wants to get rights for image and personal data of the boxer gratuitously.

So now Mr Chirtoca is trying to stop the development of professional boxing done by National Association of Professional Boxing of Moldova. Before the event in Comrat (Gagauzia) Mr Chirtoca sent letters to all instances asking to stop the event. But everything was done legal and his letters had no force. The event was secured by Police and supported by Head of the city.

Now we are trying our best to win this battle for the good of professional boxing in Moldova. We would like to ask for your support in these days!
Thank you!
Best Regards,
